These are recordings of the tour “Along the Spine 1” in which we toured from Puerto Williams (Cape Horn, Chile) to Lima and Cusco (Peru) from 18 February to 20 March 2015.

The bunker “Hochbunker” in Friedberger Anlage was built on the foundations of the once biggest synagogue in Frankfurt. After World War II it has become a memorial for the darkest chapter in German history. Remembrance and memory need a location in the present. Therefore, the ONE EARTH ORCHESTRA is creating together with the Afghan musician Ustad Ghulam Hussain (rubab) and Mirweis Neda (tablas) a program with new compositions and traditional music from all over the world. Especially music of cultures who are on the brink of extinction due to the pressure of globalization, war or censorship, will be presented in all its diversity and glory.

15. Okt. 2017 Theater in the Pfalzbau Ludwigshafen
The WELTFEST (“world festival”) in the theater in the Pfalzbau is also an annual peace festival of people and musicians from many different nations living in the area. The theater becomes a place which offers a diversity of musical and intercultural encounters. During breaks dishes from all over the world can be tasted. The ONE EARTH ORCHESTRA opens and concludes the world festival with a percussion performance and music from Ecuador, Syria, Afghanistan, Senegal, Bulgaria, Israel and Germany.

Along the Spine 2

The second stage of the tour “Along the Spine” takes ONE EARTH ORCHESTRA to Ecuador and Costa Rica. There we bring about concerts and joint projects together with very different partners.

25 – 27/2/17: Musical encounter with the flutists of the indigenous Kichwa in the  Centro Cultural de Investigación Ancestral y Desarrollo Integral Comunitario Hatun Kotama in Otavalo (Ecuador).  
27/2/17: Concert in the Centro Cultural Hatun Kotama together with Kichwa musicians
1 – 3/3/17: Workshops for composition, improvisation, violin, cello, percussion, clarinet in the Conservatorio de Música Franz Liszt in Quito 
4/3/17: Final concert in the Conservatorio de Música Franz Liszt in Quito 
6 – 8/3/17: Workshops for composition, improvisation, violin, cello, percussion, clarinet, accordion at Golden Valley School in Heredia (Costa Rica) 
8/3/17: Final concert at Golden Valley School in Heredia  
9 – 10/3/17: Musical encounter with musicians of the Bribri and the Naso in Yorkín near Bambú (Costa Rica) and the border with Panama
